About us

This project of 9/1/2009 public release seeks to learn about close matching to a specific YDNA modal for an early male that is believed to have been in the Wales/SW England Area at some early point. To join the project you need to match the modal at 25 markers 23/25; at 37 markers 34/37; at 67 markers 33/67. This means a variety of surnames may be in the project since we know a variety of surnames match this modal close. This genetic genealogy data and associated genealogy will help all to see the puzzle being put together so we can learn a lot about this early male and his descendatns..us. It is our strong hope that this picture will show us where all these surnames were located or at least some places in a certain area. WE ENCOURAGE MEMBERS TO DONATE WHAT THEY FEEL LED TO OUR GENERAL FUND SO WE CAN USE THAT FUNDING TO TEST LIVING OVERSEAS MALES IN OUR SURNAME GROUP WHEN WE THINK WE HAVE FOUND ONE WILING AND LIKELY A MATCH TO US. http://www.familytreedna.com/group-general-fund-contribution.aspx You will need to scroll down in the donation box area to the letter E which then lists the FTDNA projects beginning with E and then find Ed_Martin_Wales SWEng and highlight that one then fill in the donation amount and complete the process as instructed. HOWEVER THIS IS NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE AT ALL. CLOSE MATCHING TO THE MODAL IS NEEDED. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE YOU TO ORDER AN L21 SNP TEST AS THAT SEEMS TO BE A POSITIVE RESULT FOR THOSE IN THIS PROJECT THAT DID THE TEST. IF POSITIVE YOUCAN ALSO JOIN THE FTDNA L21+ PROJECT. AS THE PROJECT DEVELOPS MORE MAY BE ADDED HERE.
