June 24, 2009: New Member; Descendant of Michael Ehrhard and Catharine Lesch. Michael's father maybe Johann Simon Ehrhard, a Palatine refugee to New York in 1709. Update: Correct, proved by a DNA Match. See Results
July 2009: Success, I have found two cousins by DNA. One at FTDNA, the other at Ancestry. I believe they are both descendants of Wilhelm Ehrhard.
March 2010: I have found a descendant of Daniel Jordan Ehrhart, abt 1770, Oberhoffen, Alsace, France at another DNA company. Sadly, he has not returned my message. I believe he is hg R1a, so he is not related to any of us, Yet. See Results #4
April 2010: We may have a descendant of Carl and maybe Valtin Ehrhard who came to America in 1751, 1752. They settled in Fredericksburg, Maryland.
April 2010: We now have 6 Members in 4 distinct Ehrhard lines.
March-April-May 2011:
New Member: Ancestry DNA Member: Descendant of Adam Airhart of Canada, born abt 1816 in Canada.
New Member: FTDNA Member: Descendant of Adam Ahart b. abt 1776 of Virginia. SEE RESULTS #2 , #5, #6
August 2011: We have a new member who is a descendant of Philip Reinhard Ehrhart. SEE RESULTS #3
March 2012: New FTDNA Member: A descendant of Johann Georg Ehrhardt.
December 2012: New FTDNA Member: A descendant of Christopher Ehrhart b. 1707.
June 2017: New FTDNA member: A descendant of Peter Ehrhart (fl# 11) from Bettborn, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. See Results #4
Known Ehrhart's that have taken Y-DNA Test.
26 = FTDNA: only 22 are members; other 3 no email; 1 declined.
2 = Genetree/SMGF
3 = Ancestry DNA Groups
31 Known Ehrhart's that has taken Y-DNA Test.
Note: We now have 9 Distinct Y-DNA Ehrhart Families: 3 = R1b; 1 = I1; 2 = R1a; 1 = J2b; 1 = L; 1 = G2a, the two R1a are not members.
Note: (2 people) I have heard of a descendant of Philip Reinhard Ehrhard from Iggelheim who does NOT match Johannes Ehrhard from Staudernheim. I have not been able to contact either of these persons.
