This website is dedicated to the North American DeMeules.
Hello. My name is Nancy Ott-Pinckaers and my children are descendants of the DeMeules. My mother-in-law was born Yvonne Jeanette Demeules in Minnesota. At the time of her death in 2005 she was known as Mitzi Rogers Pinckaers.
Jackie Demeules Hofhenke's genealogy work inspired me to become a part of it. I consider her our Minnesota Matriarch of the DeMeules. Also, my background in medicine led me to become interested in DNA geneaolgy.
We have a number or DeMeules descendants and genealogists in Minnesota. Pierre Roland DeMeules compiled 2 volumes of Genealogy of the Demeules Family From 1683 before his untimely death in the 1980s. Andre DeMeules of New Hope, MN and Jackie Demeules Hofhenke of Champlin, MN took over the project in 1995. Jackie and Andre have had several family reunions in MN and have published a newsletter from time to time. They are members of the French Canadian Genealogy Society in MN and continue to work on these projects. Other DeMeules genealogists are welcome to join hands with MN genealogists and continue the project.
We hope to link the DeMeules males of North America to DeMeules males in France with this DNA project.
Requirements
A Surname Project traces members of a family that share a common surname. They are of the most interest in cultures where surnames are passed on from father to son like the Y-Chromosome. This project is for males taking a Y-Chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) test. Thus, the individual who tests must be a male who wants to check his direct paternal line (father's father's father's...) with a Y-DNA12, Y-DNA37, Y-DNA67, or Y-DNA111 test and who has one of the surnames listed for the project. Females do not carry their father's Y-DNA. Females who would like to check their father's direct paternal line can have a male relative with his surname order a Y-DNA test. Females can also order an mtDNA test for themselves such as the mtDNAPlus test or the mtFullSequence test and participate in an mtDNA project. Both men and women may take our autosomal Family Finder test to discover recent relationships across all family lines.
