About us

On 14 November 2007, the twelfth participant, Kit 104838, joined the project.

On 22 October 2007 and 12 November 2007, the tenth (Kit 103726) and eleventh (Kit 103720) participants joined the project, respectively. The goal is to verify whether a link exists between these two participants as well as to determine if there is a link to other participants.

On 27 September 2007, the ninth participant, Kit N54722, joined the project via the National Geographic's Genographic Project.

On 27 July 2007, the project's first confirmed DNA match between Kit 57646 (Vinyard) and Kit 94329 (Vineyard).

On 20 June 2007, the eigth participant, Kit 94329, joined the project.

On 23 February 2007, the seventh participant, Kit 84333, joined the project.

On 21 November 2006, the sixth participant, Kit 76952, joined the project.

On November 3 and 4, 2006 the Group Administrator attended the 3rd International Conference on Genetic Genealogy for Family Tree DNA Group Administrators that was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Houston, Texas.

On 07 July 2006, the fifth participant, Kit 66753, joined the project. There is speculation that this participant's oldest known ancestor, Joshua Vineyard (born 1812), may be the son of David and Nancy Vineyard and the grandson of Ishmael Vineyard who was born about 1764 in North Carolina.

On 20 March 2006, the forth participant, Kit 57646, joined the project.

On 19 Jan 2006, the third participant, Kit N18556, joined the project via the National Geographic's Genographic Project.

On 15 December 2005, the second participant, Kit 48937, joined the project. He is a descendant of Johan Herbert Wingart/Winegardner (1718-1779) who came to America in 1752 aboard the ship Two Brothers. Also, aboard this ship was a Conrad Winegarden. There has been speculation that Conrad and Johan were related. Hopefully, DNA from a descendant of Conrad could be tested to verify this hypothesis.

On November 4 and 5, 2005 the Group Administrator attended the 2nd International Conference on Genetic Genealogy for Family Tree DNA Group Administrators that was held at the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC.

This project was started on 19 July 2005 with Kit 40543.
