A few Williams cousins began to bump into each other on the internet while doing Williams research. We identified each other as all being descendants of Thomas Williams and Ruby Tibbetts and set up a yahoo group to more easily share our info. Though we expanded our knowledge of the children and descendants of our common ancestor, as of March 2011, we still haven't conclusively identified the parents of Thomas Williams. Likely candidates have, however, been identified. Thomas and Ruby (Tibbets) Williams were born and married in Ohio, lived in Indiana, and settled in Michigan. We are using y-DNA (FTDNA) and autosomal DNA (23andme, FTDNA, and ancestryDNA) to further our knowledge of our Williams connections and ancestry.
