This project's aim is to establish if males with the surname of Merdzan, or similar variants as listed here, share a common ancestor. Researching a family tree can become frustrating very quickly as it is difficult to find historical records of births, deaths and marriages. It is however fortunate that every male has the same YDNA as his father and that record remains almost unchanged for extended periods of time. People with a surname as listed in this project currently live in many different countries across the world however they all can trace their origins to Eastern Europe and in particular to countries within the Balkans. The YDNA results for each person within this project will determine relationships and may very well confirm that they all share a common ancestor.
