The GRIGG DNA Surname Project has already identified many related families. Participants with a Genetic Distance of less than " 2 " are almost certainly related, so we have grouped sush individuals together. On the chart below, you will find various subgroups, with the Haplogroup being the first factor determining groupings.
In Haplogroup " G ", Kit # N12079 & # 40005 have an exact match for the first 12 Markers. We recommend that # N12079 upgrade to 25 or 37 Markers to determine how closely these participants are related. According to the Family Tree submitted by # 40005, the patriarch of this group is Edmond Griggs, who immigrated to Jamestown from Scotland in the late 1700's, via England. His son, Hugh Griggs, is the progenitor of a large Griggs family from Georgia.

Haplogroup " I "; Group # 2 shows exact 12 Marker matches for # 30231, 2454, and 31045.
