About us

2010
  • 2010 Fifth Month. We have 150 members. Your volunteer project administrator is still working on revamping the pages of this project. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
  • 2010 Third Month. We have 141 members.
2009
  • 2009 Twelfth Month. As of the 4th, we have 136 members!
  • 2009 Tenth Month. As of the 2nd, we have 132 members, with 131 kits returns!
  • 2009 Seventh Month. As of the 1st, we have 113 members and 110 kits returned.
  • 2009 Third Month. As of the 12th, we have 101 members, with 100 kits returned.
  • 2009 First month through Third month. The Project Administrator is endeavoring to make the site more useful for everyone. The Admin started with the mtDNA page, contacting each person individually in order to gather the Quaker surnames. In the end, it was found that most people with mtDNA results did NOT have a direct maternal line back to a British Quaker. Therefore, we have lost a lot of members. However, the mtDNA results page is now accurate! Work is continuing on the Y-DNA results. Hopefully the end result will be a more detailed description of where each ancestor came from, and possibly an elimination of some results if the direct Y-DNA is not found to have been Quaker (or very likely to have been Quaker).
2008
  • 2008 Summary. We had 98 people join this year.
2007
  • 2007 Summary. By the end of 2007 there were 27 members in the project, and a new Rootsweb Mailing List was started for those interested in Quaker families and DNA. You do not need to be a member of this DNA project in order to join the Mailing List.

17th day, 9th Month, 2007. British Quaker Project begins.
