This project is open to anyone with the surname Peterman or Petermann, regardless of whether German, Swiss, or elsewhere.  My main area of interest here is the Petermann family of Root, canton Luzern, Switzerland.  My great grandfather, Josef Petermann (1862-1953), was born in Root.  I have participated in y-DNA testing, including the Big Y 700, and encourage those with the Petermann surname in Switzerland to participate, as well.
