We have several analyses of Welsh Rodericks, already suggesting 3 distinct families. Except for one, a family from Swansea from the G haplogroup, they are all of haplogroup R1b. One very large family from Llantrisant, Glamorgan, has been studied in considerable detail. Analyses of this family made it possible, with further supporting genealogical data, to match an ancestor into this family. One German Roderick family is from haplogroup I
