The project is slowly making progess, currently with over 30 male members (see results). More MEN with the surname (or ancestor) Pidgeon, Pigeon or Pidgen are needed to join by ordering a Y-DNA test kit, ideally for testing 37 markers.
WOMEN, or other men, who are interested in helping the project may either
a) persuade a male Pidgeon relative to join, and/or
b) make a donation to the project funds, so that a reduction in the fees can be made to less affluent participants.
It has been found that 12 markers are sufficient only to show that members are NOT closely related. To show the closeness of relationships within the different groups requires 37-marker tests.
