LANGTON to match each Langton sequence with a Langton village

LENTON We think this is just a matter of pronounciation and that Lenton and Langton are essentially the same name just as Lenton Lincolnshire was previously called Langton, it is the same place. So some Lentons are also Langtons but some Lentons may come from Lenton Nottinghamshire which has an entirely different derivation from the River Lene. GLANTON There is a village in Northumberland England called Glanton which is nothing to do with Langton and you may derive from there. What we are particularly interested in is if you are a Glanton with an Irish background. In Ireland in the south we believe Glanton derives from Langton, specifically from the descendants of Bishop Walter Langton. The Langtons were one of the tribes of Kilkenny. We want to clarify if irish Glanton and Irish Langton match
