About us

Fein families are documented in Germany to the 1500s.Most were in Wurttemberg. Some were in Baden. Feins are documented in New Jersey from the 1740s. It is documented that their name was anglicized to Fine. Fine families are recorded in the 1760s and 1770s in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. North Carolina Fines moved west to Indiana and Illinois. Virginia Fines moved west to Tennessee and Missouri. Maryland Fines moved to Ohio. Considerable genealogy research links many Fines today to Thomas Fine in Colonial Virginia and John Fine in Colonial North Carolina.Fijn is the Dutch Fine clan and they were in New York since the 1600s and their name was also anglicized to Fine. This DNA project seeks to determine if Fine descendants share a common ancestor.
