The Dewees(e) Surname Project was initiated on June 7, 2010, by Andrew Dewees and Curtis Dewees*. Based on our Dewees family histories, we are likely to be fourth cousins, once removed, and trace our origins back to William Dewees, son of Garrett Hendricks deWees. Recent results of our Y DNA tests show that we share the same DNA marker outcomes at 35 of 37 marker sites tested. This indicates a close genealogical relationship, thus supporting our historical records.
