Thanks to the work of Cousin Jim Cossitt of De Moines, Iowa, our association was formalized as an Iowa non-profit Corporation on January 2, 1994.
The Cossitt Family Association, Inc. maintains a computerized family Genealogical Database that starts in the 1600’s and currently has over 11,825 individuals and 4720 marriages. If you are a descendent of Ruth and Rene Cossitt you are eligible for membership which is free.
The Officers of The Cossitt Family Association are hoping that additional Cossitt surnamed males will consider donating their DNA. It has been the desire of the Directors to enhance our genealogy searches and also provide tools for enhancing our roots and discovering new lines of adjoining families.
