Chernick, Chernickowski, Chernik, Cherny, Czernik
As I got further along in doing family history and genealogy I became interested in finding related Chernick families. Y-DNA is one tool that can help in this research so I started this project. If you are interested fill out join form. On the same page there are links to ask the project manager questions, and a link to our surname project web site. I recommend getting the 12 marker paternal test to start with, $99. If you get a match at the 12-marker level, at some point you will probably want to upgrade your test to more markers (25, 35, or 67).
No personal information will be made public. Everyone who joins gets personal page on the Family Tree DNA web site. It has lots of useful information about your test results. The Family Tree DNA home page www.familytreedna.com also has a lot of useful information about DNA testing for genealogy, including a DNA Forum, and Tutorials.
If you are interested in joining go to the Join the Chernick Project web page.
