The Boler project seeks to find connections among males with the surname Boler, Bowler, Boulware, Bolar (or variations thereof) and identify lines and origins. The higher resolution tests have the potential to reduce the time to the most common ancestor.

Females can participate by having a male Boler from their line join the project.

Males and females can both take an mtDNA test if they like, and this project allows them to get a discount on the cost. The higher resolution tests are the most helpful, for example, the mtDNAplus and full sequence mtDNA. With the lower resolution mtDNA test, the match could be thousands of years ago.
