When you entrust your sample and genetic information to Gene by Gene, we take your privacy very seriously. Therefore, as a policy, we will not transfer any customer material to third parties. We do, however, believe that samples belong to customers and that our role is only to analyze, store, and safeguard samples on behalf of customers. If, for some reason, you require the return of your sample, we will send material back to the original owner provided that we receive a notarized request that includes a photocopy of a current government issued ID along with a sample processing fee of $50 plus actual shipping fees. In the event that the original person is not available to make the request, we will comply with a court order requesting the sample. Under no circumstance can we assume any liability for the quality of the sample or any future analysis once the material leaves our lab. Additionally, this transfer is permanent and to do future testing with our company you will need to request a new kit.
We receive DNA sample kits from customers. We then store their DNA samples and genetic information. Our role is to analyze, store, and safeguard samples for customers. We take our customers’ trust and privacy seriously. Thus, our policy is to never share or transfer their stored sample to 3rd parties.
We do believe that DNA samples belong to customers. If the original owner requests the return of their DNA sample, we will send it back to them. For us to do so, the original owner must send us a request using our DNA Sample Return form. The form must be notarized, and the owner must also include a photocopy of a current government issued ID, a sample processing fee of $50 US, and payment for actual shipping fees. If the original person tested cannot make the request, we will comply with a US court order requesting the sample.
Once a sample leaves our lab, we cannot assume any liability for its quality. Nor can we under any circumstance endorse its utility for any use or future analysis.
Further more, sample returns are permanent. To do future testing with us, the customer will need to submit a new DNA sample kit.
