This site was set up for descendants of Francis and Susannah (Soule) West, some of whose descendants used the surname Waste as an alternative spelling in the 1700s, probably indicating a particular pronunciation in that century and locality. There are several Francis West's of southeastern Massachusetts in the 1600s.
