About us
So far, the project members are primarily Stem descendants who have taken autosomal DNA tests, and most are descendants of the Johann Conrad Stamm/Stem born in 1686 Assenheim, Germany, who eventually settled in Montgomery Co., PA, where he died in 1779. The only YDNA results so far are for a descendant of Jacob Stem (b. 1763, PA; d. 1828, NC) and John Adam Stem (b. 1751, PA; d. 1828, PA) and their patrilinages are shown below. One of the primary goals of this project is to determine whether the aforementioned Jacob Stem (1763-1828) and/or John Adam Stem (1751-1828) are related to the aforementioned Johann Conrad Stamm/Stem (1686-1779).

1796/99 bought 200 acres of land. Died 1828 and is buried on his farm near what is now the Village of Stem in Granville Co, NC.)

Shiloh. Died 1878 and is buried in the Stem Cemetery on his father's farm in Bedford Co, TN.)
Marion Luther Stem, m. Elizabeth Jane Taylor, 1881 in Bedford Co,TN
(Born 1853 on his father's farm in Bedford Co, TN. Operated a mercantile store in Rover (Bedford Co.), TN and several other locations in Middle TN.
Died 1906 in Murfreesboro, TN and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery there.)
