Our aim is to link families sharing our name and to try and determine whether people sharing any variant of our surname are descended from just one or many families. We think that all the British families with our name originated from a small area of Suffolk. The results showed 4 of the 5 English families to be related to one another and the 2 American families to be related to each other but not to the English families. The full results can be seen on both www.ysearch.org and www.ybase.org by searching for Steggles. For anyone wishing to join this project, we suggest that you have at least 25 markers tested.
