About us

Between 1810 and 1834 Charles St-Denis and Thérèse Maisch had 7 sons. Two died in infancy, but five remained who married and ultimately left descendants. While the St-Denis surname is not ubiquitous, it appears with some regularity in Québec, Ontario, some of the western provinces and the U.S. Most of the descendants of the sons of Charles and Thérèse can trace their ancestry to either Charles, Jr., Georges or Louis (possibly Olivier) because of in-tact marriage records. Sadly, the descendants of Joseph (1826 - 1895) cannot because either the marriage was either never recorded or the record was lost.
This aim of this project is to either establish or disprove that Joseph St. Denis who was the spouse of Mary Shannon (1832 - 1905) was a son of Charles and Thérèse and a descendant of Jacques Denis dit St-Denis and Anne Gauthier.
