The Sprouse surname DNA Project. This project includes anyone with the surnames: Spruce, Prouse, or Prowse. This is a table listing all the Y-DNA test results for SPROUSE males who have taken the Y-DNA test. Females do not carry the Y-chromosome so they can't be tested for this but they CAN have a male relative (brother, uncle, or cousin) undergo this test. There are several reasons for joining: 1) you COULD have had an adoption earlier in your ancestry; if you match all the OTHER Sprouses that are listed in the table then you will not have had one (an adoption) along your Sprouse line; 2) there could be multiple clans, say a northern one and a southern one, and you wish to know which one you belong to (applicable if you have no documentation as to your Sprouse origins); 3) sometimes you DO have documentation as to your Sprouse origins and your documentation indicates you belong to one branch (say the northern one) but your Y-DNA results show you belong to the OTHER branch (the southern one); clearly there has been an error in the documentation; and 4) by joining the Sprouse surname group you can meet other Sprouse family members and exchange notes with them; this helps build your family tree or enables you to fix any errors you find.
