A Purser DNA project has been initiated with two goals. The first is to verify the 1779-1790 link between the Beaufort County, NC Purser family and the Mecklenburg,County, NC purser family. The second goal is to eventually tie both into the Virginia/Maryland Pursers and perhaps to locate the area in England from which the Pursers came to the New World
