About us
A base 67 marker DNA result has been determined for descendents of Loftis R. Munnerlyn, which may extend to all Munnerlyns. With out any results from descendents of Capt. John Munnerlyn, we can only say that this if a base result of his brother Loftis.
12/23/2009 Through DNA testing, it has been proven that the Munlin family out of Mississippi who descend from the “Richard W. Mundelyn” found in 1850 census from North Carolina are genetically related to the Munnerlyn families that descend out of South Carolina Munnerlyns from late 1700s. We do not know how the Munlin line connects but speculate that they descend through a Joseph Munnerlyn found in NC in early 1800s and he is most likely a son of one of the Revolutionary War brothers. With the Munlin link proven, this also means that it is highly probable that the Mundling family found in Mississippi may also be genetic cousins, but this can only be proven if we have a Mundling participate in the DNA project.
8/17/2009 Through DNA testing, it has been proven that descendents of John R. Munnerlyn are genetic cousins of descendents of Loftis Munnerlyn.
