Through DNA testing we would like to tie in some loose ends on Munnerlyn ancestors. A branch of Munnerlyns extending form a Joseph Munnerlyn, the paper trail has been destroyed. DNA testing has proven at least one connection with this line. Off of this line it also appears that the Munnerlyn name evolved in into Munlin and Mundling in areas of Mississippi and North Carolina. One goal is to prove that the Munlin and Mundling names are genetically cousins. One Munlin line has been genetically proven. Another goal is to get as broad a spectrum of Munnerlyn ancestors to see how everyone fits in to possibly narrow down common ancestor connections for those we do not have paper trails for. Descendents of Capt. John Munnerlyn are presently missing from our group results. The final Goal is to try and narrow down information that may lead us to find where the immigrant may have come from. At this time all Munnerlyns descendents descend from a group of Munnerlyns that were in South Carolina in the mid 1700s.
