The Lilly-Lilley-Lillie Surname Project is primarily a Y-DNA project. All Lilly spelling variants are welcome. Our project seeks to use genetic genealogy to enhance traditional genealogical research, to promote collaboration among project members, and to break down brick walls. It is our goal to learn more about the various Lilly lines and their origins through DNA. Requirements to Join this Project: In order to participate, Lilly-Lilley-Lillie descendants must have results from either a Y-DNA and/or a Family Finder atDNA test at FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA). Those that are welcome to join include: • Males with the Lilly surname or variant with Y-DNA test results from FTDNA; • Males with other surnames who match Lilly males at Y-37 DNA or higher; or, • Males and females with Lilly ancestry within five (5) generations with Family Finder results. • Administrators must be granted Limited (the default and preferred) or Advanced access to your results. • Autosomal DNA results may be transferred from another company into FTDNA’s Family Finder. Instructions may be found on FTDNA’s transfer page. A small fee is required to activate the Family Finder tools.
