John Kininmont was the immigrant ancestor of the Kinnamon family in America. John came to the eastern shore of Maryland in 1654 and settled in Talbot County, Maryland, obtaining more than 1,000 acres of land. Most of his surname descendants are KINNAMON, KINNAMAN, or KINNAMONT.

The purpose of the project is to verify certain branches of the family tree as connected with the Immigrant, John. Eventually we would like to determine a genetic connection with the KININMONT, KININMONTH, or related ancestry in Scotland by some of those surname descendants joining the project. We also believe that CINNAMON, many living in Canada, may be related.
