About us

The Hamilton/Hayward Project is a matrilineal descent comparison, which aims to confirm the suspected identity of Hannah, wife of John Hamilton of Concord, Massachusetts (1667-1747). Cluster research or FAN research (Family and Neighbors) as it is sometimes known, has strongly indicated that John was married to Hannah Haywood, born 1670 in Concord. Hannah Haywood was the daughter of Joseph Haywood (1643-1714) and his first wife Hannah Hosmer (1644-1675). This project is only open to those females who can trace their matrilineal descent to either Hannah, wife of John Hamilton or to Hannah Hosmer Hayward, the mother of Hannah Hayward.
