Welcome to the GERDIN Surname Project. The Gerdin project is open to anyone interested in working together to find common ancestors through sharing family research and DNA results, possibly extending this line back further. Eric Ersson (born 1787) was the first in this line to change the name to Gerdin. He was born in Jermesta, Vibyggerå, Sweden. He later moved to the parish of Nordingrå and then back to Vibyggerå where he remained to his death. Four of his great-grandsons from Nätra emigrated to America in 1913. Some spelling variations were common with the patronymic naming custom.
