As researcher of the Brantley family and president of the Brantley Association of America I have concluded, as others have alleged over the years, that all white American Brantleys of the US are descendants of Edward Brantly, an immigrant from England in 1638. The DNA testing process can verify that you share the common ancestor, Edward, with the 12 marker testing. The 25 marker testing, can show a common ancestor to another of a more recent generation; thus showing in more detail the same line as another person. I personally recommend the 37 marker test for more definitive information.
