This website is under development, suggestions, comments and contributions are very welcome.
From an existing One-Name Study (Ref 1.) it appears that BEDGOOD, BEDGGOOD, BIDGOOD and BITGOOD are the main lines and that most of the other surnames are variants. This is a world wide surname project since some or all of these names occur in the U.K., Canada, USA, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
The use of DNA Records for Genealogy is an established technique (Ref 2) which is becoming increasingly valuable as more individuals are tested. Providing a sample is quick and easy. Results from different testing laboratories are in a standard format and can be linked to more than one Project. Comparison of DNA data is made easier by this format and the use of comparison charts. Repeated tests for the same individual using different laboratories give identical results.
This is a surname study so only male descendants carrying one of the names can contribute DNA data. If you already have DNA data for any of these names please arrange to share. If you are interested in having a DNA test for yourself or another person please contact the Project Administrator. Although women cannot participate directly, they can play an important role by recruiting or sponsoring a brother, father, uncle, etc.
Inquiries about accessing or sharing Genealogical data are always welcome, as are comments, queries and suggestions.
