The Watts Project currently contains members from nine different major Watts lineages, some smaller matches and a number of individuals who don't yet match to anyone else. If you do not have access to the group, you can join if you have a DNA test with FTDNA or you can transfer results from most other company’s Autosomal DNA test, this will allow you to have the Family finder part. It's no charge to transfer your results, after transferring you can unlock all the family finder features for only $19.00, after you have a FTDNA account, in your dashboard you can go to manage projects and join the watts DNA project. Some Watts families have ties to lineage with Watt, Watts or Watson as the surname. NOTE: The project requires the Participants to send at least a single line pedigree (Showing from the participant to the earliest known ancestor) to the Group Administrator. Include dates and locations of deaths and births. Include spousal information if known, If possible include the known brothers and sisters of your ancestors, in the direct line to the earliest known ancestor. Group Projects are run by volunteer administrators*, people like you, who are working on their own genealogy and facilitate their Group Project members’ research using DNA test results. Please note that since projects base research on members’ DNA testing results, to join a project you must test with, manage, or transfer results to FamilyTreeDNA. Requirements

A Surname Project traces members of a family that share a common surname. They are of the most interest in cultures where surnames are passed on from father to son like the Y-Chromosome. This project is for males taking a Y-Chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) test. Thus, the individual who tests must be a male who wants to check his direct paternal line (father's father's father's...) with a Y-DNA12, Y-DNA37, Y-DNA67, or Y-DNA111 test and who has one of the surnames listed for the project. Females do not carry their father's Y-DNA. Females who would like to check their father's direct paternal line can have a male relative with his surname order a Y-DNA test. Females can also order an mtDNA test for themselves such as the mtDNAPlus test or the mtFullSequence test and participate in an mtDNA project. Both men and women may take our autosomal Family Finder test to discover recent relationships across all family lines.
