Background

George Philip Wertman settled in Lynn Twp, Bucks (later Northampton, now Lehigh) Co, PA by 1749. He may have been in Oley Twp, Philadelphia (now Berks) Co, PA as early as 1741. He was the father of at least five sons; Johan Michael, Jacob, George Philip, Simon and Johan Martin. He was of German ancestry, but the when and where is unknown. There is a scholarship fund in place to subsidize the testing of certain lines. Contact us for further information.
