Project Goals
The goals of the project are: 1) to elucidate the origin and relationship of the many STRAUB/etc. immigrants to the United States and identify their lines of descent; 2) to establish the relationship, if any, between five Germanic surnames, namely, STRAUB, TRAUB, STRUB, STROOP, and STRAUBE -- and their many spelling variations; 3) to help living descendants discover, define, and prove their genealogies; and 4) to aid those who find an "NPE" has proven them to be genetically related to these families. Please note that, to participate meaningfully, you will need to share your patrilineal line and that this sharing is a requirement, not an option, for joining (with the understanding that the identity of the test subject and any other living persons will not be revealed by the project admin).
