The goal of this project is simply to use DNA testing to help sort out the many Smith lines who left tracks in Abbeville District. DNA testing will never replace the traditional paper trail method of doing research but it may help put a researcher on the right trail or, just as importantly, prevent one from wasting a lot of time on the wrong trail.
