Project Goals
The goal of the SHAW Surname Project is to distinguish between SHAW ancestral lines, worldwide. Any reasonable spelling variant is included (please feel free to suggest a variant you feel I have missed).
Please note that, at the outset, it makes sense to "cast the net widely." As the number of individuals tested increases and various lines become well defined, I will be more than happy to turn over these lines to other researchers specializing in them. I don't recommend splitting-up the project at the outset because I have a feeling we are in for some surprises with regard to where the divisions belong...
Also please note that, to participate meaningfully, you will need to share your male direct-line ancestry either in the form of a pedigree or, preferably, as family group sheets. Please see this page for suggestions on how to submit your family line:
