The purpose of this project is to aid genealogists researching the surname RASEY and its many variants through the use of Y-chromosome DNA testing. All RASEY/etc. males are welcome to join the project, and as only males have Y-chromosomes, only male RASEYs can be tested. If you are female, you need to have a male RASEY relative tested on behalf of your line. For further information, please see the project web page at my genealogy web site:

To participate meaningfully, test subjects will need to share their patrilineal ancestry back to their earliest known RASEY ancestor, either in the form of a pedigree chart or, preferable, family group sheets (excluding living persons). Sharing one's lineage is a requirement, not an option, for participation in the project because DNA test results, without an accompanying pedigree, are virtually useless.
