The Prillaman surname is rare in most parts of the US other than in Franklin and Henry County, Virginia although a few branches of the family moved west in the early 1800's. The early Prillaman's of Franklin County, Virginia married into many other families common to Franklin and Henry County, Virginia. This project will be able to show some connections to those families by providing DNA results with corresponding gedcom information.

Secondly, Prillamans in America descend from a common ancestor, Jacob Prillaman who wrote his name as Brüllmann and immigrated to Virginia from Switzerland in 1747. By testing the Y DNA of males with a Prillaman surname or a derivation of that rare name we can determine the relationships to this common ancestor and our European cousins.
