A few of the better PATTY surname researchers are not direct male descendants and their research abilities are acknowledged. However, if they are connecting PATTY families solely by others' "paper trail" research, errors can be made. In fact errors have been found before, during, and after our Patty-DNA Project began in 2007.

We are presently working on "paper trails" that will document the relationship of the participants in our Patty group. After the verification process is completed, further news will be announced on this.
The 2007 Holiday Season Gift Certificates from Family Tree DNA are now available until December 31, 2007. This is for new orders only. We have four certificates for our Patty Project. Two are for the YDNA 37 in the amount of $30 each; and two are for the YDNA 25 in the amount of $15 each. This is a special offer and the new participant must contact the Administrator to qualify.
Happy Holidays,
Sylvia Simms

Five participants are now in the Patty project. The latest test results will be posted by mid-December. There are several more Patty and variant lines to identify by DNA. Some of the descendants of the major families whom we would like to join the study are from: James Patty 1814 SC-after 1892 AL; Charles W. Patty 1817 SC-Before 1890 AL; William R. Patey 1817 SC-1892 TN; Joshua Patty; and Jesse Paty d. War of 1812. If you belong to, or know someone who is descended from, any of these families please contact us to order a test kit and join the group.
Participants must be male and will be tested for the Y Chromosome. For details, see the Join This Group page.

A message board/mailing list is now provided for members of the Project at a separate website. An invitation to be included on the list will be made to all new members. All others who are interested in joining the mailing list may request to join and acceptance is subject to approval by the membership.

There is a total of $50.00 in our PATTY group General Fund. We need at least $100.00 more to order a 25 marker test kit for a potential member. He is waiting for your contribution now. Won't you please help someone who may be representing your own family line? Just send an email message for details or click on General Fund on the left.
Thanks, Sylvia
