Below is a list of the known ancestry of each test participant. This will be updated as further information becomes available. Matching test results have been grouped together and color-coded for easier comparison on the Y Results page. Tests are identified below in the same order in which they appear in the Y Results table.
NOTE: The Parke Society (PS) assigns a Lineage Key (LK) to each lineage within its membership. These are designated by using LK=__ and I have used those LK designations for each participant and/or group, when known.

GROUP: LK=A-JJ-JP-XW
Note: Tests 68823-70733-71217-73308 may help prove the genetic connection of various early PA lines. All are believed to descend from
William PARK (b. Co. Donegal, Ire-d. Ire.)
In addition, there are two other tests which, if upgraded, may show a genetic connection to others in this group. One (67245) has roots in York Co. PA while the other (70762) has origins in Scotland, then to the Salt Lake City, Utah area in the USA with no PA connections, thus indicating a more distant common ancestor.
Recommendation for all tests in this group would be to upgrade to at least the 37 marker level, while 67 markers would give most information.

There are two
William Park’s in the Confederate army from GA who died in Dec 1864, one in Richmond and one in POW camp in Illinois. Cannot confirm or deny if there is a connection. William would have been 59 years old and the second guy was in the guard, which would have been more reasonable. He had four sons in the war, all but
Quedalous Smith PARK who was a child. William married Almira Catherine KENDRICK, whose mother was
Elizabeth PARKS, daughter of

GROUP: LK=C
THOMAS (VA 1728) LINE
The
Parke Society (PS) uses a system of Lineage Keys, and a further system of identifying each individual in a lineage by their generation from earliest ancestor as well as the individual’s number on the Society’s family group sheets (FGS). For example,
Thomas PARKS (VA 1728), the earliest known ancestor in the LK=C line, is identified as [01C1] below. The 01 identifies him as the first generation, ‘C’ denotes the Lineage Key, and the 1 following the ‘C’ identifies his place on the FGS. Thomas’s son John is identified as [02C1]—again, 02 refers to the second generation, ‘C’ the Lineage Key, and 1 is his place on the particular FGS on which he appears.
These are the identifying numbers for Thomas and his sons. Daughters also have these identifying numbers, but since this is a Y-DNA project, we are only following male lines of descent and will not include the female lines here.

At the 67 marker level, participant is a genetic distance of 2 “Tightly Related” from the modal value for this group. 118711 shares a common mutation on marker #21(449) with 73131, making him a genetic distance of 1 from 73131 (also in the “Tightly Related” category.) This suggests that perhaps 118711 shares a line of descent from

GROUP: LK=C?
The three test participants in this group trace their ancestry to
Thomas (VA 1728) LK=C; however, a DNA comparison with GROUP: LK=C (see above) does not indicate a genetic connection to those in the group above.
Based on the tests we have in the database at this time, it would seem the genetic disconnect may have occurred in one of the two generations in bold below:
