Obermillers Worldwide DNA Project- Background

My maiden name is Nancy Obermiller and I am the administrator of the Obermillers Worldwide DNA Project.  I decided to start this DNA project for people named Obermiller, or any variation of that name. I live in the state of Colorado in the USA and I am an enthusiastic amateur genealogist. Beginning in 2006, I have become involved in several DNA projects and I am very excited about the possibilities of genetic genealogy.
My immigrant ancestor was August Obermiller who was born in Baden, Germany in 1815. August was the son of Theodore Obermiller and Harriet Sachs and he graduated from Heidelberg University on 30 June 1844. He was a physician. August immigrated to the USA on the ship “London”, which had departed from Bremen, Germany. He married Justine Unterriner in Perry County, Missouri in 1845 and August and Justine settled in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. I would like to discover whether or not all Obermillers are related. I would like to make contact with cousins and trace my Obermiller line farther back in time.
