The DNA project aims to confirm tentative lines of NETHERWOOD descent, identify lines which are connected to each other, connect partial pedigrees, and place isolated families whose connections are not known (those dreaded 'brick walls'). With sufficient participation, the project will permit regional groups to be distinguished as well as paths of migration of NETHERWOODs within the UK and around the world. It is believed that most of the readily available paper data for NETHERWOOD family history has now been collected; a DNA project will do much to carry the Study further.
