Attention!! We are searching for Nash participants from North Carolina Nash ancestry. Of particular interest are descendants of Governor Abner Nash and/or the founders of Nashville. We are trying to sort out the Nash's of Welsh descent. Please contact me if interested in participating in this Nash DNA study.
It can happen!! We now have four (4) exact 25 marker matches, three of whom were previously total strangers. The result of the 25 marker matches has brought four separate NASH and MASH families together. Three of these lines (two being NASH and the third a MASH) have been able to trace their common ancestor back to 1635, when he immigrated to the United States from Ipswich, England. They currently are working together to find the common ancestor for the fourth NASH line.
What is in a name? Note there is a lineage to our page which is not using the Nash surname. This lineage has a 25 marker DNA match to one of our members, and is in search of their true identity. (See note below)
Our project participation continues to grow, but we want more! Success comes in numbers. Everyone please continue to actively seek other Nash participants. The more participants the better chance of finding matches! If you are a male with the surname of Nash, you may participate with a simple swab of the cheek!

I am sure of the lineage to my father. Family lore says that Abraham's mother had an indiscretion (1829) and Abraham did not belong to her husband. My father's lineage is definitely not Burk(e) and Y-DNA proves it is not Skidmore. I have two 25 markers matches, one is Nash the other Gradeless.
