This is the H4 mtDNA Full Genomic Sequence (mtGenome) Project. To Join you must:
- Belong to the H mtDNA Project.
- Have Results from the mtDNA Full Genomic Sequence test at Family Tree DNA.
- Have your HVR1, HVR2, and Coding Region results turned on.

In addition, among testees in the FTDNA database who have not joined this project are a few who assert maternal origins in Spain, Turkey,Wales, France and Sweden. And of course academic studies point to much older origins in the Levant, Arabia, Egypt and the Caucasus.
H4 is among the oldest H clades, with about 20 differences from the revised Cambridge Reference Sequence being pretty typical. (A few testees have differences in the mid- to high-20s.)
