This Project was originated as an effort to expand the genealogical research of the McAlpin,McAlpine,etc (various spellings) to identify common heritage of the various known lines. The procedure identifies the DNA associated with the Y Chromosome which is passed from generation to generation thru the male descendants. The DNA testing is done by the Family Tree DNA Project.
