This project was started by John L. Marberry and Michael L. Marberry in an effort to discover if all Marbury, Marberry, Marbery and Marbry family names have a common ancestor. The first Marbury immigrant to settle and establish permanent roots in America was Francis Marbury who purchased lands in Charles Co., MD in 1690. Francis Marbury lived and raised his family in Prince George's Co., MD until his death in 1734. Most of the Marburys and Marberrys in the United States today are descendants of this family through his sons Leonard, Luke and William Marbury.
