Family Gathering- Background

Background

Knowing little of personal family background and having long wanted to find more background and history -- be it mundane or exhilarating -- when genetic testing was introduced to me in 2008, and with NO genealogy experience at all, one year later, the decision was made to test one member of my family. As the FamilyTree site had no Mahlke surname and no derivation noted at the time, the Mahlke surname project was set in hopeful anticipation.
