Background

All LINFOOT families from around the world can trace their ancestry through parish documents to villages North of Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Two families are are known to be from villages separated by only one mile but as of 2009 no parish records have been found that indicate that the families are related. Initially it was hoped that one Y-DNA (25 Marker) test from a member of each of those two families would show a close relationship. Since those two initial tests didn't show a close modern connection, two other LINFOOT males from around the world have been tested.
