Project Goals
Our first goal was to take the DNA from 2 related test subjects whose male ancestor was the product of a non-marriage birth. We hoped to see easily who his male ancestor was by comparing his DNA to the neighbors DNA. This should give us the biological male ancestor of our test subject thereby eliminating a brick wall. By tradition we were always told his father was a Reynolds or a Richardson and both lived nearby. Results are in and his DNA matches the PHELPS family who lived in a neighboring county. Research is ongoing on his ancestor.
Our 2nd goal will be to recruit men who are descended from John Killen of NC sons namely, Robert, Alfred, Morgan, Henson of VA, KY and OH.
